Welcome to Bizzy Bears Childminding

We provide parents with the reassurance and confidence that their children are completely safe, secure and happy. Bizzy Bears prides itself in providing rich stimulating environments and play experiences for children, which lead to positive outcomes in their development and individual learning journeys. We cover Burntwood in Staffordshire and the surrounding areas.

Our staff are highly qualified, qualified and have gained years of experience as professional childcare practitioners. We take nothing for granted and we are committed to monitoring, evaluating and progressively improving our standards of care.

Young children must have rich, stimulating and engaging indoor and outdoor safe environments full of contexts for play, exploration and talk, where children can choose, create, investigate and be positively involved in adult and child initiated activities.

Our mission is to provide high quality child-centered care in the community. Our vision is to provide rich, stimulating, exciting, fun, safe, secure, learning environments. We value the key person approach, children’s individuality and achieving the best possible outcomes for children.

The EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) statutory framework sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years of age. The EYFS is a statutory framework that we work to while we are committed to the previous ‘Every Child Matters’ framework which has as its main aim that every child, whatever their background or circumstances, will have the support they need.

Play helps children to understand the world around them and helps them to develop socially and emotionally. At Bizzy Bears children learn and develop through play, at their own pace with adults who understand, support and care about them.

We offer a home from home environment for the children where they are nurtured and can enthusiastically grow as individuals. Come along and see for yourself the service we have to offer.

Every Child Matters

We positively recognise our statutory responsibilities within our Ofsted registration. Safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare is of paramount importance to us. While we follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) we also follow the previous ‘Every Child Matters’ framework, which had five outcomes which are key to a child’s well-being:

• Be healthy
• Stay safe
• Enjoy and achieve
• Make a positive contribution
• Achieve economic well-being

Be Healthy

We ensure the health of children by:

• Adhering to our policies, procedures and guidelines in the control and administration of medication.
• All staff are paediatric first aid trained, while a member of staff is a paediatric registered nurse.
• We follow infection control policies and procedures using gels and foams.

Stay Safe

We ensure the safety of children and security of the premises through:

• Secure entry procedures and secure door entry
• Premises and outdoor environment daily checks
• Maintaining a secure perimeter
• Use of child registers
• Policies and procedures for the strict control of mobile phones and digital recording equipment

As a childcare provider we have a moral duty of care to ensure that any concern or incident of suspected abuse or harm is reported to the relevant local authority, i.e. the local Safeguarding Children’s Board.

Suitable Premises

In line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework we ensure suitable premises through:

• Room risk assessments
• Resources and equipment risk assessments
• Regular checks of all toys and equipment
• Entrance and all exits are controlled.
• Regular fire safety checks.

Suitable Staff

In line with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework we ensure suitable staff through:

• An enhanced CRB check for every member of staff

Enjoy and Achieve

We offer a child-centred approach where children are encouraged to develop their creativity, individuality and self-confidence in secure surroundings, led by fully qualified staff. We have implemented a key person approach which supports children in their learning through observation and assessment of their active play and exploration. This forms the basis for future planning, enabling children to follow their individual interests and individual learning from new experiences.

Make a Positive Contribution

We work in partnership with parents to ensure children’s individual needs are met. We promote inclusion and encourage children to behave in a respectful way to one another at all times. Our staff are sensitive to cultural and family backgrounds and children’s individual needs.
